Another day, yet another reckless driving incident that surfaced on the net. Irresponsible drivers are constantly making headlines as days go by. In conjunction with the issue, a motorcycle was involved in this particular incident.
A video circulated the net recently showing an elderly man riding his motorcycle against traffic and bumping into a red car. The video that was uploaded on Penang Kini’s Facebook page was said to have happened at Jalan Lembah Permai, Tanjung Bungah, Pulau Pinang.
The footage was captured by the driver of a red Honda Civic, who can be seen pointing out that she was driving on a one-way road and the motorcyclist who collided with her was driving the wrong way. The elderly man then argued with the female driver, refusing to accept defeat.
The woman stated her intention to report him for breaking traffic rules, which the man nonchalantly encouraged her to do. As she insisted that she would definitely report him, he ignored her and rode away, still heading in the opposite direction. This incident has garnered significant attention, with many Malaysian netizens criticising the man for refusing to admit his mistakes.
This sent netizens into a frenzy. Some claimed that the female driver should just avoid arguing with the man, as some elderly people tend to be egoistic. “A small matter? If the uncle had died, the driver is the one who would be placed in a difficult situation,” commented another netizen. There were also a few netizens who lightened the mood by jokingly claiming that both individuals argued in the national language despite being Chinese. Others also commented that it was a smart move that the female driver spoke in the national language, as it made netizens understand the argument better.
