With the Christmas season closing in, many Malaysians are feeling the festive spirit. We’ve seen many instances of festive decor, like magnificent Christmas decorations at malls – or even in some unexpected ways, such as decorated cars! Despite all the decorations we’ve seen, it’s hard to find someone decorating their house in a similar spirit.

However, one individual went viral for his over-the-top decorations, which didn’t only garner the attention of residents in his neighbourhood, but netizens alike. A video posted by user @/eycarydn, who is also a resident of the same neighbourhood located in Butterworth, Penang, went viral with over 734.8 thousand views (at the time of writing) showing the man’s extravagant Christmas decoration.

According to the video, the house (located at Taman Robina, Teluk Air Tawar, Butterworth) is the only one that stands out in the area due to its extravant Christmas decorations. The house can be seen decorated with coloured LED lights and numerous other decorations, ranging from snowmen on the lawn, sleighs on the roof, and even an inflatable Santa Claus that seems to be climbing onto the roof of the house.

The house instantly became an attraction for residents of all races, even from other neighbourhoods, who visited the man’s house for pictures and videos. In one of her videos, the user shared that even reporters had dropped by to interview the owner. She added that the total cost of all the decorations around the house came to a whopping RM10,000! This attracted the attention of local netizens, praising the beautiful festive decor.

Netizens also praised the owner due to his humble nature and kindness in entertaining visitors and guests seeking a closer look at his decorations, even at 2am. Others praised the residents who came to see the decorations, stating that as Malaysians, they didn’t judge the owner for going all out for his Christmas celebration.

Many also praised the neighbours for respecting the man’s house by taking off their shoes and greeting him first before entering. Meanwhile, some netizens even joked about wanting to know the man’s electricity bill for the month. Others suggested that the man could start charging visitors an entry fee to make up for the expensive decor.

What’s your opinion on his Christmas decorations? Watch the videos here:
