Guess the Halloween season isn’t over yet, as Sunway Pyramid had a surprising trick-or-treater in their car park lot this past weekend. A TikTok user uploaded a video on the platform of a seemingly rare empty parking space in the busy mall, yet a crowd was seen huddling around the area.
Turns out, the culture of leaving something in an empty lot to reserve the spot for your car isn’t dead yet. Things being left can range from a trolley to a human, but we’ve never seen anything as bizarre as this before! In the empty site was a huge python that seemed to just be resting. At least it wasn’t actively chasing anyone!

Netizens were shocked and wondered how the reptile even made its way into the mall. Many speculate that it might’ve been in someone’s car due to recent hot weather and detached itself from the vessel once temperatures went down. Commenters in the video had a laugh seeing a snake being the “odd man” out in this situation. They also joked that this would’ve made headliners in Malaysia’s monthly horror magazine line, Mastika.
While this became a light-hearted moment for netizens, a few advised that drivers should frequently check their cars in case an animal might be taking shelter, especially during this intense heat wave Malaysia is currently facing. In another video posted by a different user, it seems like the snake has been handled by the mall’s security guards using a questionable method: The guards were equipped with a long broom and an empty sack, yet it was unclear whether the reptile had been safely removed or not.

As of now, Sunway Pyramid’s management has yet to put out a statement regarding this incident. Setting the jokes aside, we hope the snake was safely transported to somewhere appropriate and no one was injured during the whole incident. Were you at the mall while this happened?
