A video of 2 young Malaysian men getting assaulted for allegedly having sex in a car has been making its rounds on social media.

The video shows a group of men who is believed to be either the security guards or members of the Rukun Tetangga – a Malaysian community development group, confronting the gay couple.

The angry group drags the 2 men out of the car and assaults them continuously, calling them an “embarrassment”, and asking them if they “have no shame”, and have they “forgotten about their God”, while at the same time, the group spouted tons of profanities towards the couple.

Activists such as Numan Afifi and Eric Paulsen are calling on the Malaysian authority to investigate the case.

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!
I categorically condemn this anti-gay violence and call on the authority to investigate on this hate crime.

Enough is enough.

p.s. If anyone knew the victims, please let them know that we’re here to give support. We need to stand up against injustice. https://t.co/Za3wOVTIX1

This is serious assault, an aggravated hate crime. Hope the authorities will investigate & arrest the perpetrators.

Everyone deserves equal protection under the law. https://t.co/rrq8C6SFgE

“This is serious assault, an aggravated hate crime. Hope the authorities will investigate & arrest the perpetrators. Everyone deserves equal protection under the law,” Eric Paulsen tweeted.

The video which was originally tweeted a user named Anaz, has now over 11k retweets and close to 6k likes.

Back in September, 2 Muslim women were publicly canned for attempting to engage in sexual acts in a car. The couple pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 6 strokes of the cane and a fine of RM3,300 each.
