It’s no surprise that Langkawi was voted as one of the best islands to visit, taking the 7th spot on this year’s DestinAsian’s Readers’ Choice Awards list since it’s home to many wonderful and breathtaking tourist attractions. If you didn’t know, it’s also the place where Taiwanese actress Joe Chen (陳喬恩) and Malaysian artist Alan Chen (曾伟昌) first fell in love.

Last year, it was announced that Langkawi’s SkyCab will have a new attraction for tourists to visit. Originally slated for a 2023 opening, the Eagle Nest has recently opened its doors to the public! Here’s everything you need to know about the new landmark:

The new Eagle’s Nest Skywalk attraction is located at the foothill of Machincang Mountain, Southeast Asia’s oldest rock formation, and as you can tell from the name, the design took inspiration from the state’s iconic eagle (symbolizing freedom and the heights of achievement) watching over its nest that hovers at 645 metres above the sea. Apart from its high altitude location, the new attraction is also the world’s longest free-standing glass sky deck!

The glass floor spans 38 metres in length and allows up to 300 visitors at a time. Tourists will get the chance to know what it’s like to be among the clouds from the perspective of the eagle. The view? Absolutely magnificent. Not only will you get a 360-degree view of the misty mountains and the island itself but you can also see the Southern part of Thailand when the sky is clear.

According to Panorama Langkawi, the new site is more than just a viewing platform for visitors as it also offers an interactive experience that connects one with the natural and cultural heritage of Langkawi. Of course, you must be wondering about the operation time and price, right? The Eagle’s Nest Skywalk opens every day from 9:30am to 6pm with tickets priced at RM68 for adults and RM48 for Malaysian children. While for foreigners, RM130 for adults and RM100 for children.

So what are you waiting for? If you’re already planning your next trip to Langkawi, might as well book your tickets to the new attraction here now while you’re at it. Check out some videos of the Eagle Nest Skywalk on TikTok:
