Earlier this week, a delivery rider who goes by @/hrstiles on TikTok shared his recent experience delivering food to a customer at an unspecified apartment building. What he likely didn’t expect was an uninvited visitor joining him for the ride up. Watch:
As seen in the video below, a dog is shown standing in front of the lift while the rider wonders whether it has an owner. Much to his dismay, once the lift doors opened, the canine stepped inside and sat down, as if waiting for the rider to join it. “Really? Why are you getting in the lift? I’m trying to deliver this order. Which floor are you going to?” he said nervously to the animal. He hesitated for a moment, but seeing no other option, the rider joined the dog in the lift.
The TikTok user then pressed the button for the 14th floor and was considerate enough to ask his unexpected furry companion whether he had a specific floor in mind. After the doors closed, the dog looked on curiously, observing the rider before attempting to approach him. The rider, clearly startled, stepped away, and the two ended up circling each other. Judging by his reaction, it appeared the rider was Muslim and was simply trying to avoid physical contact with the dog, as dogs are considered haram in Islam.
As soon as they reached the 14th floor, the dog ran out immediately, and the rider ended the recording. The TikTok post quickly went viral, with netizens amused by the interaction. Some suggested the dog simply wanted to play with him and befriend him, while others found the entire situation hilarious. A few wondered why the rider got into the lift with the canine in the first place, to which he responded that it was the only one working at the time.
