With Chinese New Year just around the corner, shopping malls across Malaysia have gone all out with their festive-themed decorations (Feel free to check out some of our faves here).

However, this mall in Kuala Lumpur had apparently given shoppers a good scare and laughter simultaneously with their creepy CNY-themed decor. Local radio announcer Chan Fong took to his Facebook to share a scary experience he had during his visit at Wangsa Walk mall recently.

He shared a video of him entering the mall and complimenting the decorations outside the entrance. Chan then made his way to a pair of mannequins clad in red and green cheongsams situated near the glass doors. At first glance, the mannequin in green cheongsam looked like it came out straight from a horror movie, especially its long bangs covering half of its face and a spotlight shining from below. “What is this? (It) scares me to death!” the DJ could be heard saying in between laughs.

At the time of writing (Tuesday, 17th January), Chan Fong’s clip has amassed up to 73k views online. A lot of netizens were both horrified and also amused by the sight of the scary mannequin. “So creepy! They can just change the attire and reuse it during Halloween. Save costs!” one netizen wrote in the comments. “Time flies so fast. Is it already the seventh month (ghost month)?” another commenter wrote.

Someone even added that the mannequin looks more suited for Hungry Ghost Festival.
