Road accidents can occur for a variety of reasons. Some are caused by reckless driving, while others result from road safety negligence. If you’re familiar with the “Final Destination” franchise, you’re probably already traumatised enough to avoid driving behind lorries – and with good reason.
We all do our best to avoid dangers on the road, but what if the threat is something completely unexpected? Recently, a billboard banner came loose, flew onto the open road, and landed on a moving vehicle. Here’s what happened:

Earlier this week, a video went viral after it was posted on the Malaysia Baru News Facebook page. The clip shows a giant Milo banner detaching from a billboard along the Federal Highway and flying onto the open road, before completely engulfing a moving car. As seen in the footage, the driver immediately hit the brakes, while other vehicles kept a safe distance to avoid further danger.
According to the caption, the incident occurred on Monday (7th July) at around 5:25pm. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Unsurprisingly, the 10-second clip quickly went viral on social media, raising concerns among road users. Some compared the scene to something out of the “Final Destination” films, while others noted the presence of maintenance or construction vehicles parked nearby, speculating that ongoing servicing work may have led to the banner becoming detached.

Netizens also called for those responsible to be held accountable, with many urging the affected driver to pursue legal action. Others took a lighter approach, joking that this might be Milo’s most “successful advertisement” yet, given the widespread attention the incident has received.
At the time of writing, there have been no official updates on the frightening Federal Highway incident, nor have local authorities issued any statements. Let’s hope nothing like this happens again — or we might just end up inspiring a new scene for the next “Final Destination” film.
