One can only imagine the trauma people had to endure after being robbed by armed bandits. Some have been lucky enough to have escaped from armed robberies while others unfortunately, have sustained multiple serious injuries. Although wounded, this woman was glad to have made it out alive after being attacked.

Earlier this week, CCTV caught a horrifying incident that took place outside of a laundromat at Masjid Tanah, Melaka. The footage showed a Proton Saga car crashing into a parked vehicle while reversing. It was then revealed that the driver was actually trying to escape from 2 armed men who were trying to rob her.

According to reports, the 36-year-old victim was driving to her workplace early in the morning when her car was suddenly blocked by another. 2 men, who were believed to have been carrying samurai swords or katanas, exited the vehicle and came towards the victim. Luckily, the woman managed to escape the terrifying ordeal and did not lose any valuables but did sustain injuries on her hand from the sharp weapon.

Melaka Police Chief Datuk Zainol Samah told reporters, “The suspects broke the windscreen, and the left and right windows of the victim’s car using the sword which then also struck the victim’s hand,”. The woman received immediate medical attention at Masjid Tanah Health Clinic before being sent to Melaka Hospital for further treatment.

After the CCTV footage went viral, netizens were furious over what happened while also showing concern for the victim’s well-being. The case is currently being investigated under Section 393 of the Penal Code for attempted robbery and Section 427 of the same code for treason and so far, there has been no update on whether the suspects have been arrested.
