One of the hardest parts of adulting is applying for a suitable occupation. Applying for jobs in Kuala Lumpur is challenging enough, more so when you’re looking to work abroad.

This young lady, on the other hand, had a different experience. She managed to secure a job in Saudi Arabia with little to no trouble and here’s how she did it:

Content creator Asma Ul Husna has been posting about her life and work in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on her TikTok channel. Earlier this month, she posted a video on how she landed a job at the Hilton Hotel in the largest city on the Arabian Peninsula. The influencer revealed that she wasn’t looking for the job in the first place, adding, “I got a message from a recruitment manager on LinkedIn and they told me that I was qualified and asked if I would consider applying.”

Fearing that it might be a scam, she did a little background research on the person who messaged her to confirm their authenticity. Once she confirmed that everything was legit, she applied for the position. The Kelatan-born woman elaborated that this was not the case of transferring from one branch to another as she had worked in a different hotel for a year after completing her studies in Food Service at UiTM.

The TikToker shared that she went through 2 interviews before finally being accepted into her new workplace. “To increase your chances of getting hired or recruited, one has to be active on LinkedIn. Post about your current job and what you do cause you’ll never know who might be looking through it,” she said. Asma also gave a heads-up that Malaysians are only allowed to work in certain fields in Saudi Arabia and advised her followers to do proper research on what they can apply for.

Netizens in the comments section all congratulated Asma on her new job with some asking for more details about the language barriers, salary and life in Riyadh in general. We’re happy to hear that things have been going well for her and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
