Although travelling can be exciting, it can also be very troublesome, especially when having to wait in line for check-ins. Thankfully back in 2020, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) introduced its Flex Fare option to ease passengers’ worries. One of the perks of this fare is that passengers can enjoy the opportunity to skip the waiting lines, with Priority Check-In, Boarding and Baggage privileges as an added bonus.

This passenger made sure he purchased the Flex Fare option when he booked a flight with the local airline exactly for those privileges. Unfortunately, things didn’t quite turn out as how he expected. Here’s what happened:

Twitter user Jo or @/joedelvey posted a video yesterday (Thursday, 25th January) of his recent experience with MAS. As seen in the video above, the passenger, who booked a Flex Fare flight was waiting for his baggage at the unspecified airport’s baggage carousel. However, he noticed that all the bags that were coming out of the carousel were ones that did not have the priority tag on them.

“I’m so done. What’s the point of getting a priority tag for your bag if everything that came out the carousel first didn’t have the priority tags?” he wrote. The passenger did not specify how long he waited to finally claim his baggage but it’s safe to assume that it was probably long enough for him to get pissed off about it.

Apparently, Jo wasn’t the only one who had faced this issue. After his post went viral, netizens came forward to share that they experienced the same thing with other airlines as well. Some even went as far as accusing MAS of scamming them, saying the priority tag is just a way to put their minds at ease.

The aviation company responded to the viral post by asking the dissatisfied passenger for his flight details. At the time of writing, Jo had yet to post an update regarding the situation.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, MAS, in collaboration with BMW Group Malaysia announced that starting from 1st February, Enrich Platinum, Business Suite and Business Class passengers will get to enjoy being chauffeured in style with the all-electric BMW i7 to travel in premium comfort between the Main Terminal Building and the Satellite Building of KLIA Terminal 1.
