With social media platforms like TikTok being all the rage nowadays, it’s easy to forget what should or should not be shared online. Although school teachers are not supposed to use social media for personal use during office hours, a few have been caught going live on TikTok while teaching in class.

While no students were actually featured in this viral video, how exactly would you feel if your child’s teacher did a spot check and posted her students’ belongings on TikTok?

A netizen who goes by @amuse_gueule reposted a video by teacher and influencer Shi Qi or @notqiwiie on TikTok. The clip showed her going through her students’ school bags and showing the contents to the camera. Said netizen wrote that they find it unacceptable for a school teacher to be posting a spot check publicly on social media and tagged Fadhlina Sidek, the Minister of Education, urging him to look into the situation.

It is currently unknown if the video was recent but after a quick check on the REAL International School teacher’s TikTok channel, the original post was possibly deleted. After the tweet went viral, netizens’ opinions of the incident were torn with some defending the content creator as she’s always known to be a loving teacher to her students while others condemned her for her actions and accused her of always using her underage students for clout.

Scrolling through the comments, some netizens speculated that the video may be a paid promotion as Shi Qi can be seen taking out some branded gummies and a lunchbox from a few of the students’ bags. This information, however, has yet to be verified. The Twitter user who reposted the video is still convinced that the teacher is still wrong for featuring underage students in her videos regardless if she had their parents’ consent.

At the time of writing, neither the digital creator nor REAL International School has addressed the recent viral video. For your information, Shi Qi previously hit a new milestone after her “Emotional Damage” video went viral earlier this March. The aforementioned clip has now reached over 37.5 million views on TikTok.
