As a customer, you’d expect the best service from any store. Unfortunately for local influencer Prince Syed Shahid, he and his wife experienced rude service at a jewellery store, evoking criticism towards the brand.
The media personality recently shared a video on his TikTok, detailing his recent experience at the Haniffa Jewellers store in Kuala Lumpur. In his video, Syed revealed that he and his family visited the store to get new gold jewellery for his wife for the coming Raya celebrations. However, while the couple were in the store, they received rude service from the female staff.



One notable interaction was when Syed asked to look at one of the gold rings on sale. Shockingly, the staff threw the ring onto the counter in front of Syed’s wife, Fatin Syazwani. After a few more rude interactions, Syed and his family left the store in anger. In his video, the influencer lamented the staff’s terrible behaviour, arguing that the couple were treated poorly because of their plain outfits.
Syed claimed that he had planned to spend RM90,000 at the store but didn’t want to shop there anymore because of the terrible service. Netizens have since reacted to the video, echoing the influencer’s anger. Syed never mentioned the store’s name in the video. However, the comments revealed that the shop mentioned was indeed Haniffa Jewellers. Many also said they won’t visit the store after seeing how the staff treats customers.


After Syed’s video went viral, Haniffa Jewellers posted their response on TikTok. In the video, a representative from the company issued an apology on behalf of their staff member. The company also said the staff has since been transferred to another branch and will face disciplinary action after an internal investigation. However, netizens weren’t satisfied with the apology, saying the female staff should be apologising.
Syed said Haniffa Jewellers’ has contacted him regarding his experience. In the meantime, he shared another video of him shopping at Joyalukkas in Kuala Lumpur and praising their service. Netizens have since used the new video to mock Haniffa Jewellers for losing a huge potential sale.
