It’s a known fact to CRAVITY (크래비티) fans that member Taeyoung (태영) once lived in Malaysia, spending four years of his childhood here. Last week, the idol returned to Kuala Lumpur for the first time since debuting, prompting a trip down memory lane.

The singer was recently in town for the “K-Pop Masterz 2025 in Kuala Lumpur” concert with his fellow CRAVITY members and fellow idol group ATEEZ (에이티즈). This concert marked both groups’ first time performing in Malaysia since their debut. As Taeyoung spent his childhood here, the concert sparked excitement amongst local LUVITYs (CRAVITY fans), who even trended “Taeyoung Balik Kampung” on social media for his “homecoming”.

Before the concert on 31st May (Saturday), Taeyoung went sightseeing in downtown KL. Through the fan messaging app Bubble, the 22-year-old shared about his visit to a local convenience store, where he came across some of his favourite snacks. The idol excitedly shared his childhood snacks, which included Koko Krunch and Honey Stars cereals, Wall’s Paddle Pop Rainbow ice cream and Vitagen cultured milk drink.

Taeyoung also revealed that he ate roti kaya during the trip, which he had been looking forward to. The idol is quite fond of the dish and once spoke about it in an interview. In another post on Bubble, Taeyoung shared his thoughts about returning to Malaysia after a long time. Surprisingly, the singer said the country felt like his hometown despite him only spending a few years of his childhood here.

Taeyoung also showed his love for Malaysia through a video he posted on CRAVITY’s official social media, which depicts him dancing in his hotel room. The idol wrote in the captions, ”When you finally came back to Malaysia”, showing how excited he was to be back here. Local fans have reacted to Taeyoung’s recent social postings, mostly expressing excitement about how fond the star is of Malaysia and how he seemed so happy to return.

Concert Review: K-POP Masterz 2025 Brings ATEEZ & Cravity To Malaysia For The First Time

We hope this trip is just the beginning of more visits to Malaysia for the CRAVITY members. Perhaps the next time the idol group will be in town, it’ll be for their solo concert. In the meantime, here’s a look at what CRAVITY did while they were in town:
