We’ve seen entrepreneurs flaunt their wealth on social media plenty of times, whether it’s showing off their excessive jewellery collection or expensive belongings – but they often get more criticism than compliments.
One entrepreneur getting hate recently for flaunting his wealth is Pak Long, the owner of a traditional herbal medicine company. In a video posted on his TikTok account, the Jamu Pak Long Man founder was performing a prayer, but next to him was a pile of cash, mostly RM50 and RM100 notes.
@hypemalaysia Netizens are criticising this local entrepreneur for using religion to flaunt his wealth.
Unsurprisingly, the video did not sit well with netizens, who slammed the entrepreneur for flaunting his wealth. Most of the comments were from Muslims, who were angry that the man would use religion to get views. Many pointed out that he pretended to perform his prayer because his movements seemed fake. They also said that his action goes against Islamic belief because the religion condemns excessively showing off one’s wealth and possessions.
The video was also reposted on Twitter, where even more netizens criticised the entrepreneur. Some even mocked him, going as far as to say that the man couldn’t buy class or intelligence, even with all that money. Some netizens even tagged Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDNM), perhaps to have the man investigated.

What do you think about the video? Did the entrepreneur go overboard with flaunting his wealth?
