Many locals in Malaysia, especially the ones from the East Coast areas, have recently suffer from numerous losses due to the flood and rainy season. In conjunction with that, many local celebrities and government bodies have been offer a helping hand during these tough times.

Recently, a video went viral on TikTok, with over 210.5 thousand views (at the time of writing) showing local entrepreneur Juliana Mazlan providing aid to those affected by the flood. Unfortunately, the kind gesture received backlash from netizens. Posted by the entrepreneur herself on her account, @/Julianamazlanshop, the video showed her at an evacuation centre wearing an odd selection of clothing.

According to the video, Juliana can be seen accompanying volunteer squads who are visiting flood victims at an evacuation centre in Kelantan. Juliana also lend a hand to prepare food and provide necessities for the victims in need. Despite her providing support for the victims, the D’rania Spa founder was seen wearing a winter jacket with a fur hood, along with an expensive handbag,

The entrepreneur’s peculiar wardrobe selection received a lot of criticism from Malaysian netizens. Many mockingly questioned if Kelantan is currently in the winter season, while others jokingly claimed that Juliana probably just arrived from a cold country.

While some thanked her for being considerate and offering a helping hand to those who needed it, many netizens slammed her for taking advantage of this public display to show off her wealthy status. Netizens commented that she should’ve just been humble and dressed in a casual attire, instead of showing up with an expensive bag and coat.

What do you think of this situation? Would you have reacted the same?
