Imagine going on vacation and stumbling upon a well-known international star – because that was what happened to local DJ Lai Ming Quan (赖铭权)! While on vacation in Japan, the Malaysian had a lucky encounter with Hong Kong star Edison Chen (陳冠希) and his wife, Chinese model Qin Shu Pei (秦舒培).
Lai Ming Quan and his girlfriend, Ashley Lim Jinq Xin (林靖欣), are currently in Japan on vacation, but early on in their trip, the pair met Edison Chen by chance at a shrine. In the video shared on Instagram, the radio announcer and former beauty pageant contestant were thrilled to have met the “Infernal Affair” star while visiting a shrine. The two even gushed about Edison’s good looks and cool demeanour.
Edison walked hand-in-hand with his wife, Chinese model Qin Shu Pei. Both public figures were fashionably dressed, with Edison wearing a blue jacket and dark pants combo and Qin Shu Pei wearing a patterned jacket and black leggings. According to news outlets, the couple had moved out of Los Angeles and now live in Japan with their young daughter Alaia. However, their daughter didn’t appear to be with her parents during the encounter.
In his captions, Lai Ming Quan wrote, “We met a legendary figure! He looked at me intently! Day 2 (in) Japan, so lucky! We look forward to Day 34567…”. The GoXuan DJ’s post has received tons of likes and comments from local netizens. Many expressed their envy over the two Malaysians for being able to meet Edison Chen while on vacation. Meanwhile, others praised Edison and Qin Shu Pei’s good looks.
While Lai Ming Quan and Ashley only got to see Edison from afar, we’re sure they were excited about the lucky encounter. Let’s hope there’s another chance for them to run into another famous figure while in Japan.
