Whenever an artist visits Malaysia, fans often go to great lengths for the chance to meet them and secure an autograph. Most would have them sign a copy of their albums, posters, or merchandise. However, there have been several instances where fans have requested celebrities to sign certain body parts. While that might not seem too unusual, one Malaysian fan took it a step further by asking a musician to sign their baby.

Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda recently appeared in the latest episode of “Last Meal” on the Mythical Kitchen YouTube channel. During the interview, he recalled a bizarre experience when the band visited Malaysia a long time ago.

Host Josh Scherer asked the rapper for advice on what an artist should do if a fan requests them to sign their baby, to which Mike responded, “100% you sign the baby.” He then detailed exactly what happened when the band visited Malaysia. According to Shinoda, a man approached him asking for an autograph. Assuming it would be the usual request for an album or poster, he agreed.

Much to his surprise, the fan handed him his baby. “He gave me the Sharpie and held up his baby so that I could sign the child. At that point, I was already too committed; it was too far gone to turn back,” he said. When asked whether the fan had requested him to sign the baby’s clothing, he clarified that the father wanted him to sign the child’s forehead. The host then inquired whether Mike had followed up on the Malaysian child since, to which he replied, “What I want is for the kid to come forward and say, ‘It was me! I got my forehead signed!'”.

The Linkin Park member did not specify when this particular incident took place, but it can be assumed that it occurred during the band’s visit in either 2013 or 2006. That moment from the episode quickly went viral among Malaysian fans. Many were curious about the father’s identity, while others jokingly claimed to be the child whose forehead was signed by Mike Shinoda.

We hope the family took a photo on the day they met Linkin Park so that we can finally learn the identities of the child and father. Who knows, perhaps they’ll have the chance to recreate the memory when the rock stars return for a concert here.
