The legal battle between former NewJeans (뉴진스/NJZ/엔제이지) member Danielle (다니엘) and ADOR hasn’t even begun. However, the internet already has many to share about the situation. Recently, a legal YouTuber even shared her thoughts on how the idol can win her case against her former label.
Legal YouTuber, Korea Lawyer, recently shared a video discussing the legal battle between Danielle and ADOR. To recap, the HYBE subsidiary is reportedly suing the former NewJeans member, her family member and former CEO Min Heejin (민희진) for breach of contract and damages. ADOR is seeking KRW43.1 billion (approximately RM121 million) in damages.

Following the report, many netizens have chimed in on how Danielle would fare against her former label in the lawsuit. According to Korea Lawyer, the 20-year-old showed a lack of awareness of the seriousness of the situation, noting her recent volunteering work and public appearances. The YouTuber argued that Danielle should’ve acted solemnly at this time because her actions outside of court could also affect the case.
Korea Lawyer also advised Danielle to sever ties with Min Heejin and acknowledge her mistakes in breaching her contract to gain the upper hand in the case. She argues that the idol should take a firm stance against her former CEO and actively prove that her ex-mentor led her on and gaslighted her. The legal YouTuber also advised Danielle to cooperate with ADOR from now on.

In ADOR’s previous statement, the agency argued that Danielle, her family and Min Heejin all bear significant responsibility for causing the recent dispute and for the delays in NewJean’s activities. At the same time, the label also confirmed that members Hyerin, Haein and Hanni have returned to ADOR, with member Minji still in discussions. ADOR explained that it terminated Danielle’s exclusive contract due to loss of trust with the idol.
As of now, the Seoul Central Court hasn’t set a hearing date for the case. Whatever happens, we hope for the best for all parties. May they find an amicable solution to the situation. What are your thoughts on this? Watch the Korea Lawyer video below:
