After sparking speculation of disbandment, JYP Entertainment’s global girl group VCHA (비춰) has recently announced a new beginning with a rebrand. The formerly six-member group will now proceed as a quartet under the name GIRLSET (걸세트).

On 7th August 2025 (Thursday), the girl group unveiled their new name and a teaser video, signifying their rebrand. The group is now composed of members Camila, Lexi, Kendall and Savanna, following the departure of KG and Kaylee. The teaser video also showcases each member with a more mature image. The slogan “We’re setting who we are” also makes an appearance in the video, highlighting a new direction for the group.

The group’s existing social media accounts have also been revamped from VCHA to GIRLSET. This new update comes after speculations that the group disbanded following allegations made by former member KG towards JYP Entertainment. The idol filed a lawsuit against JYP USA in 2024 to terminate her contract, alleging that the agency engaged in child abuse and exploited the members.

Meanwhile, Kaylee left VCHA in July 2025 through mutual contract termination. Given the issues surrounding the group, many fans were concerned about the group’s future. Earlier this week, JYP Entertainment quietly removed VCHA’s name from its artist roster, sparking widespread alarm amongst fans. However, GIRLSET’s new rebrand shows that the agency is ready to open a new chapter for the idols.

Online, the reactions to GIRLSET and the rebrand have been mixed. Some fans were excited to see the members return to the music scene, hoping that the group would be more active from now on. However, some expressed distaste over the rebrand, arguing that JYP Entertainment is using it to cover up the abuse allegations. Others also urged the public to boycott the group to pressure the agency to address the issue.

Some fans also hoped the rebrand indicates JYP Entertainment’s intention to improve as a management company. Whatever happens, we wish GIRLSET all the best in their new chapter. Would you be supporting the group? Check out the teaser below:
