It’s always heartwarming to see celebrity couples being affectionate with one another, especially those who are married. Some have received overwhelming support from their fans, while others had to deal with backlash for their relationship.
Most were happy after learning that Malaysian Muay Thai champion Johan Ghazali has a girlfriend. However, after posting a video of himself spending time with his lover, some criticised the couple for physically touching each other. Here’s the story:

Over the weekend, Johan Ghazali posted a video on TikTok featuring his girlfriend, Queenna Khan, removing stitches from his head after he sustained injuries during a recent championship match in Thailand. The couple were seen in a car, where the athlete’s partner carefully treated his wounds by cleaning them and removing each stitch from his head with tweezers.
After sharing the sweet moment online, many were envious that the boxer had someone special taking care of him with some saying that they hoped the couple would get married one day. Others weren’t so forgiving, reminding them that they shouldn’t be too physically intimate since they haven’t tied the knot yet.

As seen in the screenshots above, netizens sarcastically commented on how “sweet” it was of Johan and Queenna to shamelessly “promote adultery.” Others quoted the digits 17;32, which is Surah Al-Isra, a chapter from the Quran which emphasises the importance for Muslims to avoid adultery as it is considered a sin.
In Islam, a couple must avoid physical contact before marriage to prevent slander and to protect women from being taken advantage of. At the time of writing, the 18-year-old martial artist had not responded to the backlash he received, but it appears he was not overly concerned, as he continued posting photos from their date on Instagram.
