It seems GOT7’s (갓세븐) Jackson Wang (王嘉爾/왕잭슨) is getting bolder on social media. While promoting his latest single, the global sensation dropped a new video, which sparked heated discussion amongst fans.
Last week, the singer dropped his new single, “GBAD”, from his upcoming studio album, “MAGICMAN 2”. The song is about setting boundaries and protecting one’s will after facing betrayal. Since Jackson served as the songwriter and producer for the track, many believe that “GBAD” is a song based on his experience. While the GOT7 member has never addressed who the song was about, he did seem to drop a hint in a recent video.

After the song’s release, Jackson posted a video on TikTok to promote the new track. However, in the now-viral video, the idol wrote, “POV: you find out your best friend lied to your face for years so you made a song about it. Just gotta be a d*ck sometimes.”. The video’s caption added, “Don’t let people who disappoint you keep you down. Tell me your story”. Fans have since reacted to the video, mostly shocked to see Jackson boldly exposing his acquaintances.
However, the singer previously spoke about getting betrayed by close friends, revealing that his heartbreaking experience inspired his upcoming album. Since then, many of his fans have speculated who amongst Jackson’s circle of friends was the one who betrayed the star. While Jackson has yet to confirm the identity of the person he’s talking about in his songs, the TikTok recommended search seems to point at one Daryl K.

Jackson and Daryl are the co-founders of the Hong Kong-born idol’s agency, RYCE Entertainment. The two share a deep friendship besides being business partners. However, rumours circulating on social media suggested that Daryl abused his position as co-founder and CEO of RYCE and had hidden many of his wrongdoings from Jackson. Many argued that his actions were the betrayals Jackson had been hinting about.
Unfortunately, everything remains as allegations until Jackson reveals the truth. Regardless, fans continue to show love and support for the star and his new music.
