Cinema etiquette is something everyone was taught at a young age. Sadly, there are those who just seem to ignore it and do things their own way. Some would leave their leftover snacks, and someone even left their underwear once! As cinemagoers know, bringing outside food is strictly prohibited, although many of us still do it in secret.

Theatre snacks can be costly, and it’s understandable that movie watchers want to save money and bring their own goodies. However, if you know how to smuggle snacks into the cinema hall, then one should be mindful and not leave a mess. Over the weekend, a viral video surfaced on TikTok of a family leaving behind a trail of sunflower seed shells in the theatre. Watch:

TikTok user @/m.syafiqqqqqq shared the mess made by cinemagoers at TGV Aeon Kinta in Ipoh, Perak. The uploader explained that he was also watching the movie “You Will Die In 6 Hours” along with the mess makers, and he pitied the cleaners who had to hurriedly clean up the cine before the screening of the next show. “I can’t fathom why anyone would do this. You know very well this is prohibited. Not only that, but the sound of you snacking was very distracting,” the moviegoer wrote.

As expected, netizens were angered by the litterers and demanded they be exposed to the public by releasing the CCTV footage from inside the cinema hall. Some expressed that, although there are people who work to clean the premises, that doesn’t mean we should make their jobs harder than they already are. A few suggested that staff should check customers’ bags before allowing them into the hall to prevent similar incidents from occurring.

Unfortunately, there has been no follow-up to this incident but we hope those who made the mess were held accountable and punished accordingly. What do you think about this? Watch the video here:
