Given the popularity of all the BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) members, it’s no surprise that some fans want to emulate the idols to become it-girls themselves. However, one influencer recently sparked outrage for seemingly impersonating Rosé (로제), even taking the star’s place at her own pop-up.
Earlier this month, the Rosie pop-up store in Chengdu opened its doors to the public, offering official merchandise and themed photo backgrounds. For the closing ceremony, the organiser invited popular Chinese influencer Daisy, who many BLACKPINK fans know as a Rosé superfan. However, Daisy has also sparked debate among many BLINKs and Number Ones (Rosé fans), who claim she’s copying the singer’s image and brand.

Unfortunately, her appearance at the Rosie pop-up only brought more negative attention. During the pop-up, an emcee introduced Daisy to the crowd as if she were an idol herself. The influencer even signed official Rosé merchandise with her own autograph and took pictures with fans. Her actions sparked even more criticism that she was impersonating the singer, with some calling the organiser out for allowing her to hold a “fan meet” at an official pop-up event.
Daisy would later share a statement on social media to clarify her appearance at the pop-up. According to the social media personality, the organiser invited her as a one-day store manager at the event, with the intention of promoting Rosé. She said she didn’t accept any payments for her appearance, and that the focus of the pop-up will always be the “APT.” singer. Nevertheless, she apologised for her actions and said she’ll reflect on her mistakes.

Despite the statement, fans were still unhappy with Daisy. Many slammed her clarification, arguing that she could promote her idol without acting like the singer or signing official Rosé merchandise with her signature. Some also said she could’ve turned down the organiser’s offer, adding that she shouldn’t have joined the event in the first place. Others even urged Rosé’s team to take action against Daisy.
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with Daisy wanting to promote herself as an influencer. However, fans agree that doing so at another person’s event is inappropriate and uncalled for. What are your thoughts on this? Here’s a look at Daisy’s appearance at Rosé’s pop-up:
