(Video) Influencer In Penang Paid RM780 For A Car Wash? “I Don’t Dare To Tell My Husband”

If you own a car, you’d know the work it takes to make it shiny and clean. While most of us may prefer to clean our car ourselves, some would rather pay to have a professional do it, but how much are you willing to pay? This woman ended up paying RM780 for a car wash – but she claimed that it wasn’t a scam.

Mai Vo Dyakonov is a Penang-based influencer who recently took to TikTok to detail her experience of getting her car cleaned. According to Mai, she frequently visits this car wash centre but typically pays around RM20 per session. However, during this session, she decided to get her entire car cleaned along with the interior, opting for the centre’s detailing, coating, and polishing service package.

I am so brokeeee🤣 Tak berani bagitau suami harga saya service ini takut suami lagi terkejut😂🤣 #funny #lawak #fyp #tiktokmalaysia

As she did not ask for the price beforehand, the content creator was unaware of how much the package cost until the service was complete. She initially assumed it was only RM78 due to the centre owner’s heavy accent, so she paid RM80 and waited for her RM2 change. The owner then clarified the actual cost, shocking the influencer, who wasn’t expecting the high price.

However, Mai said she wasn’t disappointed because the car wash centre did a great job with her car and even cleaned the carpets, the baby seater, and the engine. As the service included polishing and coating, the centre even fixed the chipped paint and scratches on the car. The influencer also shared that the entire process took 7 hours to complete.

After hearing her story, many netizens were amused by the incident and related to Mai’s shock at the price. Some netizens were also understandably worried that the Vietnamese native got scammed. However, the TikToker clarified that she wasn’t, as RM780 is the average price for the service package she opted for. She captioned her initial post, “I’m so broke. I don’t dare to tell my husband about the cost, cause it’ll probably shock him even more.”

Well, at least Mai is satisfied with how her car looks after the session – but let’s use her as a reminder to always ask for the price first. Below are the follow-up videos:
