The list of stars leaving TVB in 2026 continues to grow. Hong Kong actor Fred Cheng (鄭俊弘) recently announced his departure from the broadcasting company after 24 years, making him the latest star to say goodbye.
On 4th May 2026 (Monday), Fred took to Instagram to announce his departure from TVB. In his post, the actor-singer wrote, “24 years. That’s how long I’ve called TVB my home. I walked through those doors right after high school, a wide-eyed kid with more passion than experience. And today, that chapter comes to a close.”
The 42-year-old continued his post, reminiscing on his time in TVB. Despite the hardships, Fred noted that he remains grateful for his journey and experience with the broadcaster. He then expressed gratitude to the staff and crew members he worked with, additionally thanking the audiences who supported his career.
Ending his post, Fred admitted that leaving TVB after more than two decades felt odd, saying it feels like “leaving home for the first time”. Finally, the actor thanked the broadcasting company, writing, “Thank you, TVB, for the first 24 years of my working life. And thank you, everyone who walked beside me.”

Many fellow HK stars have reacted to Fred’s post to share words of encouragement, including Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), Kayee Tam (譚嘉儀) and Sisley Choi (蔡思貝). Sisley herself left TVB earlier this year, formally announcing her departure in March. Another former TVB star who left the company in 2026 is Nancy Wu (胡定欣), who departed in February.
It’s definitely not easy to leave a place you’ve called home for the last 24 years. However, we wish Fred all the best in his future endeavours, and we can’t wait to see what the star has in store for fans.
