Hong Kong stars Felix Wong (黄日华) and Andy Tai (戴志伟) have a long-standing relationship, having been teammates in the Hong Kong Celebrity Football Team for many years. However, a recent incident sparked rumours that the two actors may be feuding.
Earlier this week, members of the Celebrity Football Team appeared in Weihai as part of their exhibition match tour across Mainland China. The matches combine sport and live entertainment for local fans and included a segment where the team sang live while walking around the pitch. However, during this segment, a brief on-stage incident involving Felix and Andy drew major attention.
As shown in videos, Felix was walking towards a singing Andy when he suddenly swung his right hand in the actor’s direction. While the star didn’t make contact with his teammate, the gesture appeared forceful, and he also had a stern look on his face. Felix’s unexpected action startled a few people nearby. However, Andy and a few other members of the Celebrity Football Team continued singing as if nothing happened.
Clips of the incident circulated on social media, sparking debate on whether there is a rift between the two long-time teammates. However, upon closer look, many netizens pointed out that the moment appears to be a playful exchange rather than an altercation. Many noted that Felix broke into a smile shortly after swinging his arm towards Andy, suggesting that his “attack” was merely a joke.
Fans have reacted to the situation, expressing relief that there wasn’t any serious discord happening between the two stars. It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the Hong Kong Celebrity Football Team faced rumours of a rift. Alan Tam and Natalis Chan famously had a fallout because the latter reportedly tried to start his own team after years in the team. Thankfully, the two have since made amends.
Given how suddenly Felix swung at Andy, it’s no surprise that the public was taken aback. However, we’re glad the incident was just a joke and that the two aren’t feuding.
