Typically, fans are the ones who give gifts to their favourite celebrities when they see them out in public. However, in this case, Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung (張柏芝) was the one who gave a fan a generous gift for their love and support.
Recently, a video of the actress’ interaction with a long-time female fan sparked interest. In the video, the fan had an encounter with Cecilia while in public. After the fan mustered up the courage to approach Cecilia, the star responded warmly to acknowledge her. Surprisingly, the actress then stopped in her tracks and began rummaging through her tote bag. She then pulled out a box and handed it over to the fan.
The box reportedly contained a necklace from Cecilia’s brand, Seececistreet. The fan was taken aback at first but accepted the gift after the 44-year-old nudged her to take it. The interaction understandably left the fan confused but grateful for the generous gift. In the video’s captions, the fan wrote, “She is my childhood and youth, she is Cecilia Cheung whom I have loved for 22 years”, displaying her long-time support for the star.
It’s unclear which Seececistreet necklace Cecilia had gifted to the fan. However, a quick look at the website shows that necklaces from the brand range from HK$750 to HK$1,980 (approximately RM435 to RM1,148). It’s also unknown if the accessory was from Cecilia’s personal collection or one that she carries around as a gift for people. Regardless, the star’s sweet gesture has gone viral on Chinese social media.
Many netizens commented on the video, envying the lucky fan who got the necklace. Many also praised the actress for her generosity and kindness towards her supporters, bringing up the time Cecilia nonchalantly gave away the luxury watch she was wearing to a fan waiting for her at the airport. Others also commented on the mother-of-three’s visuals, saying she still looks youthful at 40-something.
