One of the highlights of childhood is school events like Children’s Day, Teacher’s Day or even Sports Day — and one of the best things about these occasions is the presence of a MILO truck or van. Kids and adults alike would flock to the trucks for a cup of the iconic drink. But have you ever wondered why we were so addicted to them?

Why do MILO drinks from these trucks taste better than the ones we make at home or order at restaurants? What makes them so special? It seems we finally have an answer, after an employee revealed the secret recipe. Watch:

Earlier this week, a Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran Johor content creator, who goes by @/imanbeekunin on his socials, shared a video on his TikTok channel in which he interviewed a MILO truck employee on duty that day. He asked the staff member what made the famous chocolate drink from the truck taste so much better than the ones made at home.

The answer? It’s simply the MILO formula — no added sugar, milk, or any other ingredients. “It’s just the formula. Just Milo and water. You can try it at home later,” he said, before explaining how to prepare it. According to the truck worker, all you need is six teaspoons of MILO and 200ml of hot water. Apparently, it’s that simple.

The video has since gone viral, with some surprised that there is, in fact, no secret recipe behind the beloved drink. Many poked fun at the preparation process, noting the awkward pause the MILO staff member had while explaining it. A few claimed that the drink really does taste better after following the instructions given in the video.

Watch the viral clip below and let us know the results after trying it yourself at home:
