One of the most entertaining attractions at an amusement park is the haunted house. Who doesn’t love a good scare? If rollercoasters aren’t your thing, the next best way to get an adrenaline rush is by screaming, and possibly running for your life, as monsters and ghouls jump out from the shadows.
It’s even more fun with friends, especially those who are jumpy at the slightest fright. That said, these kinds of attractions aren’t for everyone. If you’re someone who gets easily frightened or overwhelmed by eerie environments, it might be best to skip the haunted house or wait outside while your friends go through. Otherwise, you might end up making one of the scare actors feel guilty for scaring you half to death. Here’s what happened:
Recently, a TikTok user by the handle @/elviraa.elr posted a video on her channel showing a scare actor dressed as the Grim Reaper comforting a teary‑eyed girl. According to the captions, the group had just finished going through a haunted house at the Lost World of Tambun in Perak, and it appeared that one of them had been a little too overwhelmed by the experience.
The Grim Reaper carefully approached the crying girl and gently reassured her that the haunted house wasn’t real, and that all the ghosts inside were just actors. It’s understood that the girl didn’t actually make it through the entire attraction, as she ran back to the entrance halfway through. This prompted one of the actors to step out and check on her to see if she needed any assistance.
The TikTok post quickly went viral, with many expressing their amusement over the situation. Some found it hilarious that the Grim Reaper, the very personification of death, had to break character and comfort a frightened guest. Others shared their own haunted house experiences, saying they had become some of their most cherished memories.
It’s genuinely heartwarming to see the staff member break character to ensure the guest was all right. While haunted houses can be a lot of fun, there’s absolutely no pressure to go through them if you’re not up for it.
