(Video) Girls Generation’s Tiffany Thinks New Gen Of Idols Are Lazier?

While there are tons of amazingly talented K-pop groups that are taking over the world right now, fans have compared them to the older generations of idols. Some argued that the music was better back in the day while others questioned their agencies for no longer prioritising talent when scouting for new artists to debut.

This made us wonder if senior idols have their own opinions about the new generation of K-pop. SNSD, widely known as Girl’s Generations (소녀시대) has been in the business for more than a decade and member Tiffany (황미영) recently shared her thoughts on the current generation of idols and the way they rehearse for their performances.

Earlier this week, the singer appeared as one of the guests on the “Radio Star” talk show. During the interview, the “Run Devil Run” artist talked about her experiences rehearsing backstage with her group for their 2022 comeback which also marked their 15th anniversary in the industry.

“I went to a music program broadcast and it was my first time in a while. Even though the cameras were far away, we would dance diligently and work hard ’cause we wanted to stand out even if we weren’t in the spotlight,” said the 34-year-old. However, while they were backstage, the idol noticed how much things had changed over the years after witnessing younger groups’ rehearsals.

“There’s something called ‘fan cams’ these days and it was my first time hearing about it. So they have individual cameras focusing on each member so I realised that it’s not so competitive anymore. Idols don’t have to overdo anything now, they can take it easy. However, I do admit that when I first saw the other idols’ rehearsals, I thought, ‘Why are they doing it so half-heartedly?'” she said.

Although she was astonished by how things work nowadays, Tiffany ended the discussion by stating that she still believes an idol should give their all even if it’s just a rehearsal. Due to certain mistranslations of the interview, international fans’ reactions have been mixed with some agreeing that idol groups nowadays don’t work as hard as their seniors while others bashed Tiffany believing that she was actually throwing shade at her juniors.
