One should never criticise others based on their looks but it can’t be denied that looks are everything when you’re a public figure as you have to always be presentable. With all that being said, fans love seeing their favourite artist in their more casual state or bare faced as they’re able to admire them as they are.
Sadly, local model Zahnita Wilson lost hundreds of her followers on Instagram after she posted a video of herself playing with her daughter with no make-up on. The incident didn’t seem to bother the working mother. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean she’ll accept any kind of criticism or rude comments thrown at her.
Last night, Zahnita Wilson posted a video on her Instagram to respond to a DM she received from an unnamed netizen. As seen in the screenshot above, the netizen wrote, “I think you have mental issues. Can’t you be more beautiful like Sarimah Ibrahim or Marian Counter?”. Fed up with receiving these types of comments online, the model decided to say something about it.
“If you don’t like my crappy content then get out! This is just a matter of opinion and it’s your view of me. Yes, it’s very different and rare compared to what you have been fed but my content is raw reality and in this big bad cyber world, it’s an honour to be able to share myself with you,” she wrote. Besides what was written in the captions, the Malaysian celeb also talked about how her social media is a safe space for women to be able to share with and relate to one another.
“Maybe I do have mental issues, especially with people like you,” she said in response to the rude remark left in her DM. Shortly after posting the video, fans and fellow celebs all reassured Zahnita that she was just as beautiful and that they appreciated her raw, unfiltered content. Some reprimanded the rude netizen for the uncalled-for remark saying that they’re the one with mental issues, not the public figure.
Knowing Zahnita, she definitely won’t let this insignificant opinion get to her. As long as she’s happy, healthy and loved by those around her, that’s all that matters to her.
