The glamorous life in the spotlight isn’t for everybody. Unless you genuinely have a passion for performing and entertaining people, the celebrity life isn’t for you. Some Malaysian celebrities have retired after being in the business for so long and each has their own reasons to leave the extraordinary lifestyle.

Former singer Anita Sarawak completely went off the radar away from the spotlight while former actress Sarah Hildebrand decided to join the US Army. Malaysian actor and singer Arja Lee is now joining these former stars in leaving behind the red-carpet lifestyle to become an educator.

Other than appearing in the “Budak Intern” series last year, Arja has been relatively quiet over the past few years as he has not starred as the lead actor in any movie or TV series. Fans only recently discovered that the actor has been furthering his studies after he posted his graduation video on Instagram. Apart from studying, the 39-year-old has also apparently retired from the entertainment industry.

He now lives a normal life as a lecturer at the University of Malaya, Kelantan (UMK). According to mStar, the “…Dalam Botol” star no longer has the desire to be involved in the glamorous life of a celebrity and is now very happy and comfortable living an average life as an educator.

“Alhamdulillah I am comfortable with my life now. I have a permanent job and most importantly, I have a monthly income that I don’t have to worry about every month,” he said. When asked if he will make a return to acting or singing, the former celeb answered that although he does miss performing, he currently has no plan in making a comeback to the industry.

For your information, Arja Lee made his big break in the entertainment industry when he starred in the controversial LGBTQ+ movie, “…Dalam Botol” back in 2011 alongside Wan Raja and Diana Danielle. The 39-year-old was also a contestant in the “Gempak Superstar 2016” singing competition where he ultimately won 3rd place during the finale.
