Losing a child is every loving parents’ nightmare. The thought of losing your child at a mall or anywhere when you’re out in public is terrifying. There’s no way of knowing what kind of danger they might get themselves into. Even if your child is safe at home, they can be too trusting and easily manipulated. Remember that girl who ran away after befriending a stranger on PUBG?

Speaking of strangers, it’s important for parents to be very aware of their surroundings to avoid their children being taken. Thankfully, this TikToker and his friend were quick to notice that something wasn’t right when two suspicious women approached his friend’s wife.

TikTok user @alfitry_azmi52 posted a video on his profile to spread awareness about something terrifying that he and his friends experienced while they were at the Skytropolis indoor theme park at Resorts World Genting. The viral video that reached 4.2 million views and 6.4k comments, showed the TikToker filming the incident that occurred where his friends’ child almost got kidnapped.

In the video, the content creator showed two foreign women roaming around the indoor theme park with one of them wearing a telekung (prayer veil). According to him, the one in the telekung is Pakistani while the other is Indonesian. He recalled that he and his friend went on one of the rides while the friend’s wife stayed behind to look after their son and belongings. After a while, they noticed that the wife was approached by two suspicious women.

The foreign women appeared to be in a hurry as one of them tried to grab the child’s hand and pull him away in an attempt to kidnap him. Alfitry’s friend quickly got off the ride to help his wife and save his son. With no security guards around the theme park, they sought help from police officers at the casino who then escorted the foreign women out of the theme park for questioning. The TikToker also revealed that the women apparently tried to cast a spell on the wife but to no avail.

In the follow-up video above, the entrepreneur clarified a few things to avoid further misunderstandings. According to Alfitry, the women insisted that they were just missing their children in their home countries terribly which resulted in one of them impulsively grabbing his friends’ child.

He also explained that the reason he posted the video was to create awareness so that parents will stay vigilant while they’re in crowded areas with their children and report anything they find suspicious to the authorities. He then clarified that he had no intentions of criticising or slandering Resorts World Genting and he thanked the authorities for their assistance.

UPDATE (Thursday, 22nd September)

Yesterday (Wednesday, 21st September), it was reported that the whole incident was only a huge misunderstanding between the two parties. According to Berita Harian, the results of the investigation showed that the foreign women entered the country legally and there was nothing suspicious enough to indicate they had any intentions of kidnapping children. The women insisted that they just terribly miss their own children in their home countries.
