The Merdeka 118 tower has been getting a lot of attention lately and not necessarily for the right reasons. Other than being known as the second tallest building in the world, the skyscraper is now known as the tall building foreign daredevils dared to climb without permission. Unfortunately, it probably won’t end there.

Being an iconic building, foreigners are just so curious to see the view from on top of the tower that they’re willing to do almost anything to catch a glimpse. While this man from China did not climb the tower, he did had some help from his drone to capture the view. Unfortunately for him, things did not go as planned.

In a video uploaded on the popular Chinese video-sharing website Bilibili, a tourist from China wanted to fly his drone to take photos from the top of the Merdeka 118 tower. In the 4-minute video, the Chinese man apparently wanted to share just how tall the building really is with his followers after learning about the Russian couple who climbed the tower.

From the clip, we can see the man arriving at the tallest location he could find to fly his drown after asking for directions from the construction workers. The video then cuts to the majestic aerial view of the tower taken by the drone. As breathtaking as it is, the Chinese tourist got into a little bit of trouble when his drone got disconnected.

Not being able to control his small aircraft, the content creator panicked as the drone crashed straight into the tower before plunging 600 metres to its demise. “It’s over, it’s over!” he said while frantically trying to reconnect his remote control to the device.

If crashing his drone wasn’t bad enough, the video was met with mostly negative comments from netizens telling the tourist that he could’ve gotten someone hurt and that flying a drone in certain locations without permission is against the law. As for the content creator himself, he has yet to respond to any of the comments.
