BLACKPINK’s Lisa (리사) is among the many K-pop idols set to make their acting debut soon. Earlier this year, it was announced that the rapper would join the cast of the third season of the popular HBO TV series “The White Lotus”. Filming took place in Thailand, her home country, making her the perfect choice to represent it.
During an interview with ELLE a few months ago, the “ROCKSTAR” singer revealed how she landed the role, adding that she’s been taking acting classes to fully prepare for her acting debut. She also shared some behind-the-scenes details from when she was on set filming her episodes. Not much has been revealed about her character – until now.

Earlier today (Monday, 11th November), HBO released a teaser for the upcoming season of “The White Lotus”, giving fans a first look at Lisa playing her character. Although the clip was brief, here’s what we’ve learned about her role in the Golden Globe-winning series. It was previously rumoured that the BLACKPINK member would be playing an influencer in Thailand, but judging by the costume and her lines in the promo, it can now be assumed that she will be playing the manager of the White Lotus resort in Thailand.
If you zoom in on her name tag, her character is simply listed as Mook, which means “pearl” in Thai. Sadly, there is still no information on how much screen time she’ll get in the series. Based on previous seasons, the resort staff have played an important role in the events surrounding the guests, whose stays become affected by various psychosocial dysfunctions. With this in mind, it’s possible we’ll see Lisa in more than just one episode.

Soon after the teaser was released, fans expressed their excitement at seeing the K-pop idol make her acting debut. Those familiar with the show joked that they would support Lisa’s character, Mook, even if she had committed a crime. Some were surprised to see her playing a service worker, as they are used to her onstage idol persona.
