It’s no surprise that BTS (방탄소년단) members are some of the wealthiest in South Korea, having made millions of dollars from their many endorsement deals and sold-out tours. However, member Jin’s (진) casual flex from a recent video showed just how rich these international pop stars are.
In a recent episode of Run Jin (달려라 석진), a spin-off of BTS’ popular variety series Run BTS (달려라 방탄), Jin visited his old school. While checking out the school cafeteria, the 32-year-old wanted to purchase a snack for himself, jokingly asking the filming crew for some cash. The cafeteria owner then offered to give the snack as a treat. Jin quickly refused, saying he was rich enough to pay for his own item and subsequently taking out his card. In the end, Jin got his chosen snack for free. However, fans quickly noticed that Jin had actually tried to pay with his exclusive black card.

If you didn’t know, Jin owns an exclusive credit card known as the Hyundai Black Card. According to its website, the card is issued only to VVIPs and the top 0.05% earners in the country. The basic requirements to receive the card include spending at least 10 million won (approximately RM33,000) each month and having a minimum of 10 billion won (approximately RM33 million) in assets. The card also charges an annual membership fee of two million won (RM6,600).
Understandably, the BTS vocalist doesn’t show off his black card often, but it seems he doesn’t shy away from using it either. The casual flex in the variety show proves how wealthy the singer is and how comfortable he is at using the card, even for measly purchases. ARMYs have also reacted to the flex, expressing shock over Jin casually pulling out his black card at a high school cafeteria. However, some joked that his card might have been too extravagant to use at such a place.

If you’re wondering, another member of BTS who also reportedly owns a black card is Jungkook (정국). He even tried to use the card on a vending machine, but the payment couldn’t go through because the card was too high-end. What are your thoughts on this?
