After months of preparing for his solo project as well as the group’s comeback, fans were devastated by the sudden news that EXO member Kai (카이) will be enlisting in mandatory military service on 11th May. SM Entertainment announced earlier last week that there has been a change to the idol’s schedule.
Many EXO-Ls refused to accept the news that their bias will not be joining in the group’s comeback later this year. Yesterday (Wednesday, 10th May), fans were slapped with reality after the singer was spotted out in public with a shaved head.

The blonde hair is officially gone, folks. Kai or Kim Jongin (김종인) went to visit his elder sister yesterday at her workplace at Kamong Cafe in Seoul. Fans were quick to notice the idol and posted videos of his visit where he sported his new shaved head in preparation for his mandatory military service the next day.
As seen in the first video in the thread above, the “Rover” singer kept rubbing his head as he left the cafe with his sister. He was also seen waving goodbye to some fans. Not long after that, the “Choco Bank” actor was then seen leaving the premise on a bicycle after his sibling send him off.
Both videos went viral on Twitter where EXO-Ls got emotional after seeing him with his new hairstyle. Many commented how handsome he looks while others are still processing the fact that they won’t be seeing him in a while after he gets enlisted later today. Fans were also in tears after the Gucci ambassador himself posted a photo of his buzz cut on Bubble.
As aforementioned, SM Entertainment announced that there has been a change to Kai and EXO’s schedule as the former will quietly enlist in the military service today. The news caught both fans and the idol himself off guard. To keep everyone’s spirits up, the main dancer promised that he will show fans everything he’s been preparing for once he returns in 2025.
Kai is now the 6th member of EXO to be enlisted in the military service.
