Whenever a celebrity comes face-to-face with an accusation, they often deny the claims or avoid answering. However, it can be a breath of fresh air when a star directly admits to a somewhat outrageous accusation.
Recently, there were speculations that Malaysian actress Emma Maembong was at a nightclub in Sibu, Sarawak, prompting heated reactions from netizens. The claims sparked after a video went viral depicting a woman, who bears a similarity to Emma, walking through a crowd in a club and waving to some cameras.

On 4th February 2026 (Wednesday), Emma took to Instagram to clear the air on the matter, admitting that the woman in the video is indeed her. In an Instagram Stories post, the actress said, “I don’t understand why people are exaggerating the situation and blurring my face in the video,” before admitting to visiting the Sibu nightclub.
The star explained that she was in the city to shoot a music video and learned that DJ Kidd, whom she’s rumoured to be romantically involved with, was spinning at a local nightclub. Emma said she showed up at the club to support him and didn’t wear a mask or hat to conceal her appearance because she felt that it was unnecessary.
Emma also said she happily waved at fans who recognised her at the club. The actress argued that netizens didn’t have to blur her face in the videos as she wasn’t trying to hide from the public. She then ended the video, expressing gratitude to the Sibu locals for accommodating her during her visit.

The 33-year-old’s candid confession sparked mixed reactions from netizens. Some fans applauded Emma’s courage for setting things straight, despite the criticism. However, others criticised her for openly admitting to entering a nightclub, especially since she’s a Muslim.
Speaking of DJ Kidd, the music personality also defended the actress amid the controversy, saying it’s her choice to visit him at a nightclub. As for Emma, she seems unbothered by the comments. What are your thoughts on this?
