Getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a big deal cause that’s when you know you’ve made it in showbiz. Our very own Tan Sri Dato Michelle Yeoh will be getting hers soon but before we get to see her name on the historical landmark, many celebrated an actor who just received his.
Yesterday (Thursday, 23rd May), a large crowd gathered at Hollywood Boulevard to witness the unveiling of Chris Hemsworth’s very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in honour of his contribution to motion pictures. Joining the actor on this momentous occasion were his wife and 3 kids and celebrity friends like Robert Downey Jr., and Anya Taylor Joy.
Robert Downey Jr. took to the podium to give a few words to his Marvel co-star. Much to everyone’s surprise, the “Iron Man” star revealed that he had personally asked the other members of the original “Avengers” to describe the Australian actor in 3-words. Starting off with Jeremy Renner’s message, the “Hawkeye” star said: “‘Absurdly, annoyingly amazing.”
Scarlett Johansson, who famously played Black Widow in the franchise described Chris as a “‘Sensitive leading lady.” Quoting from the movie they did together, “Thor: Ragnarok”, Mark Ruffalo said that he is a “Friend from work”. Bringing the roast to a close, Robert conveyed Chris Evans’s describing words to his fellow “Avenger” saying, “Second-best Chris”.
Uncharacteristically, the 59-year-old Academy Award winner chose not to roast his Marvel castmate but instead gave his 3 words to describe him. “Hollywood Star Recipient,” he said before giving Chris Hemsworth a warm hug. The rest of the ceremony went smoothly with the exciting unveiling of the actor’s star on the iconic pavement.
