Chinese actress Fan Bingbing (范冰冰) continues to show her love for Malaysia! Melaka’s tourism board recently shared a video of their newly-appointed tourism ambassador sharing her thoughts about her new role and the state of Melaka.
The video shared through the Tourism Melaka Facebook page was an interview with the star about her first thoughts on Melaka. In the video, the star was aboard the iconic Melaka River Cruise. She starts by voicing her happiness about being appointed the tourism ambassador for Melaka, describing Melaka as a beautiful place with a long history.
Fan Bingbing added that she felt a sense of strange familiarity while in the city and on the river cruise. Fan Bingbing also mentioned that she ate a lot of delicious local cuisine during her stay, naming Hainanese chicken rice and durian cendol as some of the things she tried. The 43-year-old also praised the locals for their hospitality and kindness, noting they were very friendly.
Before ending the video, Fan Bingbing also voiced her hope for more Chinese tourists to visit Malaysia and Melaka to experience the culture and customs. She also highlighted that 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, and thus, is the perfect time for Chinese nationals to visit Melaka.
Tourism Melaka and other media outlets have also shared photos of Fan Bingbing during her visit, including the mural at Jonker Street painted in her honour. The star also shared updates on her busy schedule as a tourism ambassador, revealing that she recently visited various local landmarks, including the Freeport A’Famosa Outlet and the Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum.
It’s nice to see Fan Bingbing enjoying her new role as Melaka’s tourism ambassador – and we hope to see more of the star in Malaysia in the future.
