Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh (佘诗曼) seems to have it all: a successful career, adoring fans and deep respect from her peers. However, fans recently learned of another envy-inducing attribute of this talented star.
Earlier this week, the actress and her co-star Patrick Tam (谭耀文) went on TVB’s “Star Weekly” to promote their ongoing legal drama series, “Themis (正义女神)”. During the episode, the two stars discussed various topics related to their careers. They also answered questions from their celebrity friends, including Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Matthew Ho (何廣沛) and Annie Man (文頌嫻).

While the pair answered a range of questions, it was Annie’s question for Charmaine that sparked major attention. The actress expressed curiosity about Charmaine’s slim figure and 22-inch waistline, questioning how the 50-year-old can maintain her weight despite being a huge foodie. To everyone’s surprise, Charmaine revealed that she naturally doesn’t gain weight.
According to the television starlet, she doesn’t get fat even if she eats a lot and even has to have a late-night snack before going to bed to ensure a good night’s sleep. While she admits that it’s not good for her, Charmaine quips that she goes into “food hell” if she tries to skip her late-night snacks, saying she’ll start daydreaming about food until she satisfies her cravings.

Show host Albert Au (區永權) then asked Charmaine about her most indulgent and heaviest late-night snack, thinking she would answer with a simple dish. However, the actress revealed that she once had baked pork chop rice, typically consumed during lunch or dinner, for supper.
In the same “Star Weekly” episode, Charmaine also spoke about her work ethic, including how she memorises her lines and how she easily cries on command. She also shared about the hardships she went through when filming “Beyond The Realm Of Conscious (宫心计)”.
