About a year ago, singer-songwriter Charlie Puth tied the knot with his wife, Brooke Sansone, in an intimate ceremony at their residence in Montecito, California. Since then, he has been busy performing and recently teased fans that he was working on new music, which he officially announced yesterday (Thursday, 16th October).
In addition to his upcoming release, there’s something else the artist is looking forward to: fatherhood. On the same day of the album announcement, Charlie surprised fans with his new music video, revealing that he and his wife are expecting their first child together.
Charlie Puth has released his brand-new single “Changes”, along with its accompanying music video. The track serves as the lead single from his upcoming album “Whatever’s Clever!”, which is slated for release on 6th March 2026. In the whimsical, 1980s-inspired video, the singer’s wife makes a cameo appearance, wearing an oversized red sweater as she walks hand in hand with her husband on a giant toy piano.
Then came the surprise, as Brooke and Charlie placed their hands on her stomach, revealing that they are expecting their first child together. Although the song itself appears to be about a breakup, its overarching theme of change ties in perfectly with the baby announcement, as the soon-to-be parents prepare to embark on a new chapter in their lives.
“[‘Changes’] is the song I wanted you to hear first because it’s a perfect way to bring all of you into the most beautiful, colourful part of my life — which happens to be right now. You will soon know why,” the artist wrote in an Instagram post on 8th October, when he first announced the single. Since the release of the music video, fans have flooded the comments section to congratulate the couple on their pregnancy and to offer well-wishes ahead of their baby’s arrival.
