They is an old saying that goes “when it rains it pours” and while the saying itself is supposed to be metaphorical, the same can’t be said for the state of affairs at Malaysia’s international airport, KLIA Terminal 1. While the aerotrain issues have been well documented over the last couple of years, today the terminal decided that it needed to bring in a bit of nature into its surrounding – and took design inspiration from Changi International Airport down south.
The leak, which looks to be centered around one of the main support pillars near check in row L, was seen flooding the main terminal during a heavy downpour. Travelers who were supposed to be busy checking in for their flights were definitely caught off guard by the sudden leak – which very quickly turned into a cascading waterfall as seen on a number of videos uploaded on X, Instagram and Tiktok.
Well, that’s another “accomplishment” by our main international hub, to go alongside the Aerotrain breakdowns, data breaches and constant power failures and lift/escalator malfunctions.

Now, if MAHB could quickly put in a led lightshow with the waterfall, we might actually give Changi a run for it’s money.
