Not everything you see on social media is the truth. Recently, a group of Malaysian TikTok creators went viral after reporting that one of their friends went missing in a forest in Bandung, Indonesia. However, local celebrity Caprice quickly calls them out on their bluff.

According to reports, a local influencer named Eyka went missing after entering a forest in Bandung, Indonesia, for a video. The 22-year-old was there with a group of influencers led by TikTok creator Ammar Nazhan. The group was reportedly in the forest to film a video related to paranormal investigation. Thankfully, Eyka was found safe in the early morning of 6th February 2025 (Thursday) after being missing for three days.

While the influencer’s disappearance raised concerns, many netizens questioned the case’s legitimacy. One netizen even reached out to media personality Caprice, asking to uncover the truth about Eyka’s disappearance, alleging that the group staged it to gain social media clout. Caprice would later expose the influencers for being a fraud after receiving confirmation from someone working with the talent agency that manages some of the involved TikTokers.

In the video shared on Caprice’s social media, the 36-year-old revealed the messages he received from the individual confirming the video was fake. The person alluded that the disappearance was Ammar’s idea, adding that they’d previously advised the influencers not to work with him. The individual also revealed that Ammar never paid the creators involved in making the video.

Caprice would later condemn the creators in his Instagram Stories, saying they’ve embarrassed the Malaysian embassy in Indonesia and the mystic content industry. Many netizens have also commented on his post, generally voicing disappointment towards the group of creators and their content. Others say the group should face legal action for wasting public resources since Bandung police were involved in the search.

According to the comments, Ammar is infamous for such “useless” content. As of writing, the influencer hasn’t responded to the criticism – but what are your thoughts on this?
