There are many things about Malaysia that seem foreign to tourists and it’s often entertaining to see their reaction when they experience these new things in our country. While some of these foreigners’ opinions may be offensive, others are simply hilarious.

Previously, a British TikToker listed down three things he was surprised to see in Malaysian malls. Now another British citizen is wondering why fashion stores in Malaysia are selling a certain type of clothing. Watch:

Why? Is 23 that cold? 🙈🙈😀 #malaysia #traveltiktok #fyp #foryou #foryoupage

British TikToker Nicole Crewe has been frequently posting videos of her experiences in Malaysia since November of last year. Being in a foreign country for a few months, the content creator had a lot of interesting stories to share with her followers but one particular viral video caught the attention of netizens.

In the original video posted, the foreigner asked a very genuine question while browsing through what looked to be a ZARA clothing outlet. “Why do stores in Malaysia sell so many winter clothes?” she asked in the video. You have to admit, even we Malaysians can’t justify this. The influencer with over 50k followers further added that the country’s temperature does not fall under 23-25°C which make these outfits nonsensical.

The TikTok video has since reached over 1.5 million views, making it the most-viewed video on this TikToker’s channel. Malaysian netizens replied to the video with some providing actual answers to her question. They explain that people buy these clothes for travelling purposes and while it doesn’t snow in Malaysia, the country does have its cold seasons. However, many chose to be a little more creative with their replies.

Here are some of the most hilarious answers:

Nicole has so far only responded to those who gave her genuine answers to her question. Since Malaysians aren’t used to cold weather, it’s only natural for us to stay warm when the temperature drops slightly below 25°C. Plus, some people wear winter clothes simply to show off their fashionable OOTD.
