Last weekend, the BLACKPINK members performed back-to-back shows at the Kaohsiung National Stadium, kicking off the Asia leg of their “DEADLINE” world tour. As part of the setlist, each member performed their solo songs, with Lisa performing her hit single, “Rockstar”. However, clips of her performance from one of the nights have since gone viral, with much of the attention going to her stage outfit.
At one point in the choreography, Lisa spreads her leg while she’s bent forward. During this move, the idol’s micro shorts would ride up, becoming extremely revealing. However, upon closer inspection, Lisa is wearing skin-colour tights, which prevent her from accidentally exposing herself. Understandably, the overly revealing outfit sparked massive debate among fans and netizens.
Many of the comments criticised Lisa for the outfit choice, arguing that it’s too revealing for a stage performance. Some even said they felt uncomfortable watching the performance because they thought it was too sexualised. Meanwhile, fans defended the Thai star, arguing that Lisa is an adult who can freely choose what she wants to wear. Others also noted that the idol appears comfortable with her outfit, so it shouldn’t be an issue.
However, some did express concern over her stage outfits becoming increasingly revealing, citing potential safety issues and possible accidental exposure. It’s worth mentioning that this isn’t the first time Lisa has gotten backlash for her stage outfits. For a previous show, the singer wore a micro skirt with nude underwear, which some netizens interpreted as a deliberate move to appear as if she wasn’t wearing any underwear under her skirt.
