K-pop stars often go viral for their bold and fun fashion choices. Recently, ATEEZ (에이티즈) member Wooyoung (우영) amused fans when he wore a rather explicit sweater en route to Europe.
The singer recently did a live broadcast where he talked about his recent airport fashion choice. On 16th January 2025 (Thursday), the members of ATEEZ gathered at the airport for their flight to France. The boy band dressed in coats and sweaters to beat the winter cold. However, member Wooyoung surprised international fans when he appeared in a maroon sweater from South Korean brand SSROOM with the words “She Got Me By The Balls” written on the front.
Unsurprisingly, English-speaking fans cracked up at the 25-year-old’s choice of airport outfit. Some even questioned whether the Korean singer understood what the phrase meant. During his recent livestream, Wooyoung spoke about the sweater, revealing that he didn’t know the meaning. He added that he brought the top and wore it to the airport because he liked the design. He joked, “You think I would’ve worn it if I knew the meaning?”.
However, Wooyoung didn’t wear the sweater for long because he took it off while still at the airport. He said he found out the meaning after translating comments from international fans. After learning what his sweater said, the idol immediately removed it and put it into his bag. Sure enough, a photo he posted after boarding the plane shows him without the now-infamous sweater.
It’s worth noting that Wooyoung isn’t the only idol who accidentally wore a shirt with somewhat NSFW wording. However, it’s good that he learnt about the phrase before it caused unwanted attention. Perhaps he’ll start translating his shirts before purchasing them.
