Noise complaints aren’t unusual but in some cases, they can get pretty violent for some reason. Earlier last month, two neighbours were caught in a physical altercation with one another over a noise complaint.

If you thought things couldn’t get more violent, this father and son duo decided to threaten some people with a sharp butcher knife after they were disturbed by loud noises coming from a car accessory shop nearby their house. Here’s what happened:

Over the weekend, a video, originally posted on Facebook, circulated on social media, showing a very distressing altercation that happened in Sibu, Sarawak. The post showed a father and son, armed with a meat cleaver, confronting a group of men for the loud noises that were allegedly coming from their car’s audio system that could be heard 10 meters away from their house.

The two family members were heard threatening the men and the father was even seen swinging the sharp cleaver at them. While all of this was happening, the group of men tried to calm the enraged duo down but to no avail. Local authorities received a police report from a 30-year-old witness at around 2:07pm the same day.

Sibu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Zulkipli told reporters that the argument happened at around 11:30am at Jalan Bukit Assek and that the suspects, ages 69 and 33, have since been arrested. “The weapon used by the suspect was also confiscated for further investigation,” he added. Thankfully, no injuries were reported after the incident.

At the time of writing, there have been no updates from the authorities regarding the punishment the father and son will receive for their violent actions. For now, the case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code. If found guilty, the suspects will receive no more than 2 years of jail time or a fine or both.
