Local actress Anna Jobling is reaching new heights in her career! The star was recently nominated at a South Korean award ceremony, highlighting her popularity and star power.
Yesterday (21st August 2025), reports emerged that Anna was nominated for “Outstanding Asia Star – Malaysia” at the prestigious Seoul International Drama Awards (서울 드라마 어워즈/SDA) 2025. The nomination was for the actress’s role as Cahaya in the hit TV3 drama, “Hai Cinta, Dengarkanlah!”. The ceremony will take place on 2nd October 2025 (Thursday) in Seoul, South Korea.

Anna’s nomination follows actress Siti Saleha’s win at last year’s SDA for the same category, shining the spotlight on Malaysian talent and projects on the regional stage. This year, Anna will go up against several prominent stars from the region, including Kentaro Sakaguchi (坂口 健太郎) from Japan, Bai Yu (白宇) from China, Film Rachanun Mahawan (ฟิล์ม รชานันท์ มหาวรรณ์) from Thailand and Daniel Padilla from the Philippines.
Anna has reacted to her nomination, expressing her gratitude in a statement. The 25-year-old said, “I am genuinely shocked and touched by this. It’s a huge honour not just for me, but for the entire production team of “Hai Cinta, Dengarkanlah!”. The unwavering support from my family, colleagues, and fans has always been my biggest inspiration. I truly hope to bring this win home for Malaysia.”

This joyous news comes amidst the controversy surrounding Anna and her mother, Ariz Arop. The latter previously alleged that her actress daughter had filed an injunction against her. There are also reports that Anna has cut off ties with her mother, allegedly due to her mother’s overly controlling behaviour, which caused the star emotional distress. The actress has yet to comment on the matter.
Regardless, we’d like to congratulate Anna Jobling on her nomination, and we’ll be rooting for her to win and bring honour to Malaysia. If you’d like to vote for the star, you can do so by downloading the IDOL CHAMP app.
